I handle global cybersecurity and privacy at General Motors and Cruise Automation, supporting the design, development and sourcing of hardware and software components for the connected, autonomous and electric vehicle. I cover autonomous technology, in-vehicle apps, mobile apps, telematics, websites, IT contracts, M&A and JV transactions, vehicle data licensing, AI, blockchain, mobility, infotainment, data sharing, e-commerce, litigation & cross-border transfers. CIPP/US certified.
Prior to joining GM, I was an attorney with large law firms in Detroit, Indianapolis and Chicago, and worked in-house as General Counsel & VP of Operations. I've worked with global software companies, including an automotive marketing, lead gen and consulting software company, and startups on technology, licensing, IP, privacy, venture capital, M&A, litigation, employment and investigations. I have always used technology & innovation to drive efficiency & better client service.
I have presented on privacy, cybersecurity, risk management, and emerging technologies and taught seminars on the use of legal technology, including CLEs and private training sessions.
I graduated with a B.A. from the University of Michigan and a J.D. magna cum laude from the University of Illinois College of Law, where I was Order of the Coif and Internet Editor for the Elder Law Journal. I am admitted in Michigan, Indiana (inactive) and Illinois (inactive).
